Join us as we go to Union Station Homeless Shelter here in Pasadena to prepare and serve dinner to the homeless. The time commitment is 5:45 PM – 9:30 PM, food and materials will be provided. Watch for sign up announcements on the Community Service Email Interest List.
The Caltech Y offers many opportunities for community service, organized and led by Caltech students. If you are interested in receiving email announcements of upcoming community service projects, you can self subscribe to the Community Service Interest List at www.caltechY.org. If you are interested in helping to organize and lead community service projects, or have other questions: contact caltechy@caltech.edu.
The Caltech Y Student Executive Committee (ExComm) meets weekly to plan activities, consider requests for funding, and to monitor programming efforts of the Caltech Y. Meetings are open to any students who are interested in planning events or influencing Caltech Y programming.
The Caltech Y was founded by students, to provide students with leadership development opportunities. The spirit of our founding remains today – to provide opportunities to prepare students to be responsible citizens of the world. The Y seeks to broaden students’ world view, and to raise social, ethical, and cultural awareness through teamwork, community engagement, activism, and leadership. Students play a key role in initiating and organizing each Y event.
Join other Caltech undergrads and grad students to tutor K-12 students in math and science Friday afternoons at the Association of Salvadorans in LA! Each week we meet at the Caltech Y between 3:45-4PM, drive into LA, and return to campus by 7PM. Come just one Friday, join us when you can, or tutor every week - we and the kids would love your help! Please email myself (klucey@caltech.edu) or Hanna Liu (hkliu@caltech.edu) for more information and/ or to join.
