The Caltech Y has a long history
of responding to student issues on campus as well as global concerns
in our community with thought provoking forums for engaging with the
world. From roundtable dialogues to town hall style forums to providing
resources for student demonstrations, the Y has long advocated for student
engagement. Some of the most recognized efforts have been those to bring
distinguished speakers, such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Margaret Mead,
Dolores Huerta, and Scott Ritter to campus as the Social Activism Speaker
Series (SASS) now does.
