Visitation
Join in a conversation on current events, play games, perhaps play an instrument (if you can), or just spend some time with others. Visiting the elderly and/or diabled in an assisted living residence is a great way to brighten the day of some of our campus neighbors. Projects may include: Chancellor Place Residence, Alhambra Convalescent Hospital, Keiro Nursing Home, or Vista Nova Home for the Blind. Durations range from 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
Painting/Light Construction/Cleaning/Yard work
Improve the facilities of a local home or community center by helping paint, repair, renovate, or do yard work. No specific skills necessary, just a willingness to get down and dirty on some good honest work. Projects may include: the Boy's & Girl's Club, Rebuilding Together, Elizabeth House, Kid's Space Museum, or an Environmental Charter School. Durations range from 5 to 8 hours.
Children's Games & Crafts
Visit with children, help them build small craft projects, read to them, and participate in games and competitions with them. Fun for the kids and a great time for students. Project site is Hillsides Home for Children. Durations range from 5 to 6 hours.
With or Around Animals
Help clean up the facilities for local service agencies that work with animals. Volunteers may encounter and interact with cats, dogs, and horses. Projects include: Lifeline for Pets and Mach 1. Durations range from 5 to 6 hours.
Outdoor/Environmental
Join our team to work in the environment, planting trees in urban areas or maintaining trails, or at a beach clean up. Projects may include Santa Monica Trail Coalition, Eaton Canyon Nature Center, and Heal the Bay. Durations range from 6 to 7 hours.
Academic
Join our team as volunteers at a Science Olympiad event. Help proctor, grade, and judge, as well as set up and clean up at the event. Duration will be 12 or more hours with travel, and will require departing prior to 6 AM.

Special Requests:
We will try to accommodate requests to be with another person, to start or end at particular times, or to be on a project of a certain length of time, however these requests may preempt your ranking above... so only indicate requests if that is your preference.
